Hola ! We are the Garage School, an art-education collective that started in Bogotá, Colombia, in 2013. We create temporary schools that respond to specific contexts, develop practices which support the social body and activate peripheral and undervalued knowledge. We work across varied contexts including art institutions, political spaces and community centres.

The Garage School exists in the intersection of curiosities, skills and desire to learn together with others. Our schools operate not out of an impulse to ‘teach’, but rather a need to facilitate a collective and polyvocal (un)learning process.

We situate ourselves and operate within a constellation of aligned collectives and practices, recent collaborators/ aligned practices include: CACN (FR), Survival Infrastructures, Kunstinstituut Melly, 2dh5 festival, Reading Counterpower, Jineology Collective NL, Gemaal op Zuid, Het Rode Keukentje, Doe Het Zelf Werkplaats, take-a-way, LungA School (IS), Independent Community Radio Network.
